282: Catechism of the Catholic Church; "In (God's) hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind" (Job 12:10).

Genesis:  4:1-2;  The man had intercourse with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain.  " I have acquired a man with the help of Yahweh"  she said.

All that issues from the womb is mine. - Exodus 34:19Genesis:  4:25-26;  Adam had intercourse with his wife, and she gave birth to a son whom she named Seth, "because God has granted me other offspring," she said, "in place of Abel, since Cain has killed him."

Genesis  25:21;  Isaac prayed to Yahweh on behalf of his wife, for she was barren.  Yahweh heard his prayer, and his wife Rebekah conceived.

Genesis  29:31-35;  Yahweh saw that Leah was neglected, so he opened her womb, while Rachel remained barren.  Leah conceived and gave birth to a son whom she named Reuben, Because she said, "Yahweh has seen my misery;  now my husband will love me."

Genesis  30:18;  So he slept with her that night. * God heard Leah, and she conceived and gave birth to a fifth son by Jacob.

Genesis: 30: 22-24;  Then God remembered Rachel; he heard her and opened her womb. * She conceived and gave birth to a son , saying, "God has taken away my shame."

Genesis:  33:4-6;  * But Esau ran to meet him (Jacob), took him into his arms and held him close and wept.  * Then looking up he saw the women and children.  "Who are these with you? he asked. Jacob answered, "The children whom God has bestowed on your servant." 

Exodus  34:19; All that issues from the womb is mine.

1 Samuel 20;  Elkanah had intercourse with Hannah his wife and Yahweh was mindful of her.  She conceived and gave birth to a son, and called him Samuel "since" she said,  "I asked Yahweh for him."

1 Samuel: 1:27-28;  This is the child I (Hannah) prayed for, and Yahweh granted me what I asked him.  * Now make him over to Yahweh for the whole of his life.  He is made over to Yahweh. 

1 Samuel 2:6;  Yahweh gives death and life.

1 Samuel 2:20-21;  "May Yahweh grant you (Elkanah) an heir by this woman in place of the one (Samuel) she (Hannah) has made over to Yahweh."  And then they would go home.  Yahweh visited Hannah; she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters.  Meanwhile the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of Yahweh.

Judith:  16:17;  For you spoke and things came into being, you sent your breath and they were put together, and no one can resist your voice.

2 Maccabees:  7:22-23;  " I do not know how you appeared in my womb; it was not I who endowed you with breath and life, I had not the shaping of your every part.  It is the creator of the world, ordaining the process of man's birth and presiding over the origins of all things, who in his mercy will most surely give you back both breath and life, seeing that you now despise your own existence for the sake of his laws."

2 Maccabees:  7:27-29;  Bending over him, she fooled the cruel tyrant with these words, uttered in the language of their ancestors, "My son, have pity on me; I carried you nine months in my womb and suckled you three years, fed you and reared you to the age you are now (and cherished you).  * I implore you, my child, observe heaven and earth, consider all that is in them, and acknowledge that God made them out of what did not exist, and that mankind comes into being in the same way.

Job:  1:21;  "Naked I came from my mother's womb, naked I shall return, Yahweh gave, Yahweh has taken back.  Blessed be the name of Yahweh!"

Job: 10:8-12;  "Your own hands shaped me, modeled me; and would you now have second thoughts, and destroy me? And would you reduce me now to dust?  Did you not pour me out like milk, and curdle me the like cheese, clothe me with skin and flesh, and weave me of bone and sinew?  And then you endowed me with life, watched each breath of mine with tender care.

Job 31:15;  They, no less than I (Job) were created in the womb by the one same God who shaped us all within our mothers.

Job  33:  4;  See, I am your fellow man, not a god;  like you, I was fashioned out of clay.  God's breath it was that made me,

Psalm 100:  3;  Know that he, Yahweh is God, he made us and we belong to him, we are his people, the flock that he pastures.

Psalm  199:  73;  Yahweh, my maker, my preserver, explain your commandments for me to learn.

Proverbs:  16:4;  Yahweh made everything for its own purpose, yes, even the wicked for the day of disaster.

Ecclesiastes:  11:5;  Just as you do not know the way of the wind or the mysteries of a woman with child, no more can you know the work of God who is behind it all. 

Wisdom: 11:26;  And how, had you not willed it could a thing persist, how be conserved if not called forth by you?

Isaiah:  42:5;  Thus says God, Yahweh, he who created the heavens and spread them out, who gave shape to the earth and what comes from it, who gave breath to its people and life to the creatures that move in it:

Isaiah: 44:24;  Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, he who formed you in the womb:  I, myself, Yahweh, made all things, I alone spread out the heavens.  When I gave the earth shape, did anyone help me?

Isaiah:  64:8;  And yet, Yahweh, you are our Father; we the clay, you the potter, we are all the work of your hand. 

Malachi: 2:10;  Have we not all one Father?  Did not one God create us all?  Why, then, do we break faith with one another, profaning the covenant of our ancestors?

John:  1:3;  Through him all things came to be, not one thing had its being but through him.

Acts:  17:24-25;  "Since the God who made the world and everything in it is himself Lord of heaven and earth, he does not make his home in shrines made by human hands.  Nor is he dependent on anything that human hands can do for him, since he can never be in need of anything; on the contrary, it is he who gives everything-including life and breath-to everyone.  * From one single stock he not only created the whole human race so that they could occupy the entire earth, but he decreed how long each nation should flourish and what the boundaries of its territory should be.  * And he did this so that all nations might seek the deity and, by feeling their way toward him, succeed in finding him.  Yet in fact he is not far from any of us, * since it is in him that we live, and move, and exist, as indeed some of your own writers have said: 'We are all his children'

Colossians:  1:15-16;  He (Christ) is the image of the unseen God and the first-born of all creation, for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth:  everything visible and everything invisible, Thrones, Dominations, Sovereignties, Powers--all things were created through him and for him.
